Well this is an interesting startup and one that I think has potetial to go far beyond it’s capabilities. Veetle is a live video content in HD site that lets you watch the Tour De fRance and other tv shoes in HD.

Now this is in beta testing right now, but this does have the making to be quite a startup in the next coming mounths. It includes 14 channels and pver 25,000 viewers from around the world. That’s pretty impressive and might I say a great way for tv networks to show more of there programming.

The hoepage isn’t all that bad, but it does give you a real sense of a YouTube, only this ones in HD quality. Yuo can watch anything from Wimbeldon to James Bond or even the departed. The site even lets you upload your own tv shows witch will appear in HD when viewed on Veetle.

It’s like your own presonal tv only it’s online and in HD.

Flixwagon appears to have beaten it’s better know rival qik to the punch by getting it’s streaming videos to work on iphones. Qik has been looking to support the iphone, but so far they have been noncommttal.

I guess it was waiting until the new generation of the iphone had the support for video so qik wouldn’t have to hack camera functionality. Which Flixwagon must have done to be able to pull of this great feature.

Flixwagon just seems like it finds every way possible to these types of things first before anyone of their compettiors do.

But don’t expect Flixwagon iphone support rolled out to beta testers until early July. Perhaps they when the official app store goes live on the 11th of July.

So will qik now try and do this with their service? Or will Flixwagon keep on beating it’s compettiors in every way they can? We will have to wait and see, but for now I am interested to see how qik will respond to this.

See video below for demonstration

New Yahoo Logo

13Jun08

The one in purple is the new logo for Yahoo. Now in my opinion this logo looks better than the red one and the purple one gives the Yahoo logo a new kick.

Ben Sweat, a product manager for Snap says he saw the the new logo this morning on Firefox 3, see shot below. But when he tried to replicate the logo on internet explorer it was gone.

But when I tried to do this today I was unsuccessful and usually this is called a “Bucket Test” were a small precentage of users see a change in the design of a site or a feature.

Maybe we’ll know more in the next coming days and maybe there is a favicon or logo partnership in the works with Google and Yahoo.

Yahoo has announced that they have reached a deal with Google.

Well so far we know this deal is to let Google put ads along side Yahoo Search results. This Agreement is Non-Exclusive and it gives Yahoo the ability to display paid search alongside it’s search results from Google.

This deal has the potential of being a  8- 10 year term. This deal is apart of an open strategy says Yahoo and this deal is a big one in the Search Industry. Now in my opinion I really don’t think Google has anything to worry about with this deal going down. Personally I think Google is no match for Yahoo, search wise and with every competior Google has. I think they are ultimately  the best search engine on the web currently.

This is just little snippit of the deal so far and there will be more coming real soon.

Oosah is a self-described “media management system” with a simple-sounding intention: to serve as a one-stop shop for managing all of your online video, image, and audio files. This idea doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in isolation, so Oosah is using the Web 2.0 Expo this week to release a set of integrations with other services.

The new integrations allow you to drag-n-drop files between Oosah, Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, and Picasa. The Oosah site itself is essentially a free 2GB online storage service with a snazzy, browser-based file management tool. Once you give it credentials to these other content-sharing sites, it becomes a hub of sorts that reduces the pain points to data transfer.

When I first heard about Oosah, I figured it would appeal to the same set of internet power users that goes ape over social network aggregators. But after checking it out, it became evident that Oosah also appeals to the MySpace faithful by making it easy to widgetize your digital media.

In addition to integrating with other services, the site is releasing a new gallery widget to compliment its slideshow widget. Each can be used to embed Oosah-hosted photos and videos onto webpages and social network profiles. These widgets actually strike me as the most useful parts of Oosah, since they equip ordinary people will easy ways to distribute their personal media.

Oosah is angel-funded and competes not only with the online storage services that provide sharing capabilities, but with the Slides and RockYous of the world as well. Also see Second Brain (reviewed here).

Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht announce the sale of Revision 3 to Fox News Rose says “Well, ah, we basically have a big announcement for everyone. Revision3 has been acquired by a bigger company. We’ll be moving to Fox News.” He added “I’m thinking of getting a fox tattoo, its kinda part of my signing bonus, if i do it i get a little extra money.”

spot-runner-logo.jpg   Political campaign season is heating up and that means: Bad political ads on TV. Spot Runner wants to get into the action with offering to raise quality ads for as little as $500 and run them in highly targeted cities and even neighborhoods.  With Spot Runner doing this and all, there is only one question: Here we go more bad ads on TV. The Poltical race is already bad enough we don’t need Spot Runner getting on the action now and putting what they are quality ads which to some people saying here we go again. Now don’t get me wrong Spot Runner is great site and all but this might be a bad idea, but now that I think of it, Spot Runner might have real shot at getting great revinue and market their name out into spots were some people may not be formilar with them.  Spot Runner has also composed a highly powered political advisory board that includes people like: former Senator Bill Bradley and political strategists Mike Murphy, Dan Schnur and Bob Shrum. Spot Runner so far has focused on small buisnesses and local buisnesses to buy TV ads on both network TV and cable. To make the price cheaper the company shows different ads which me edited by customers. Is Spot Runner going to make it in the political ad buisness? You be the judge.

opensocial    It is official! Myspace,Facebook,Google, and Yahoo join to form Open Social Foundation. With Myspace becoming so huge and having a huge user base, it’s no wonder why Myspace is in this Foundation. Yahoo brings together different features and open social features as well like Yahoo Personals, Flickr and other great social servces. Google brings together Social features like Gmail, Orkut, and google site creator. Facebook is probably the best Social Network i have ever seen and the best part is it was the first ever Social Netwokr out there. Now don’t get me wrong Myspace is a great Social Network, but it does give Rapists and other sick people aces to dozens of Profiles ranging from any age.  The OpenSocial Foundation is headed in great direction so far,but we will have to see if other Open-Social Communities will join the foundation in the future.
